I'm Luana, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™. I work with women who are struggling with low energy levels and fatigue and are just trying to get through each day.
Do you want to feel more alive, joyful and energetic?
Do you desperately want to work to help with the family income or be more active outside and in your community but are not sure what to do to solve the problem?
I give you the tools to have more energy and deal with your feelings of fatigue even though you may think that this is normal for your age.
I want to give you hope for a better tomorrow. So you can transform your health and bring more joy into your life.
I am on a mission to help women over 40 see that it is not downhill from here. Some of you look after your aging parents and special needs children/adults and feel spent by the end of the day. You wake to feel tired and the day is just getting started. This condition is affecting your mental health and you feel like you are spiraling out of control without any chance of recovery. Even if your children are grown up, you feel the best days are behind you. Well, I am here to tell you that the best days are still ahead and I would like to help you enjoy them.
I know because I was that woman.
WHERE I WAS BEFORE MY TRANSFORMATION
I used to think it could only get worse until I learned to connect the dots and solve my own health problems. I would like you to feel empowered to do the same. One common saying that I have used is, "I feel like someone has pulled the plug on me," or "I feel like someone has taken the wind out of my sails." In other words, "I am totally exhausted!" Sinus infections, bronchitis, sore throats and the common cold were common for me many years ago. Going on antibiotics was all I knew at the time because my immune system was fighting something every winter. I connected my lack of motivation and energy to poor dietary choices. I learned that some foods made me extremely tired, especially when I ate too much of it. One of those foods is wheat pasta which is a common dish in my husband's Italian family. Was I shocked to learn that! I changed my food choices and added some supplementation and super foods to my diet. Gradually, I began to see a difference.
I went to the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to learn more for my own health journey and to receive the credentials to educate others. My ability to relate to you in this area and teach you the tools I have learned has given me the expertise to help you achieve a more balanced approach to finding freedom from fatigue.
WHO AM I NOW?
When I am not learning about nutrition or consulting a client, I can usually be found taking a walk around my neighborhood, singing my favorite worship song or pop song, reading a self-help book, biography, the scriptures of the Bible, or watching a good movie with my husband. I love to entertain my friends on occasion and bake cookies. Yes, it is possible to bake nutritious cookies!
I have two grown boys and I homeschooled both of them. My husband, Jack Flacco, is an author and just finished his latest book, When Forgiveness is Enough.
I grew up in Nova Scotia but moved to Ontario in 1988. Most of my family lives in Nova Scotia. I love to visit there as often as possible. Oh how I miss the ocean waves in the summertime.
On a more personal note, I am a follower of the risen Jesus and it is my mission in life to show others that God is love and that Jesus is there for each of us if we just call on His name. He will answer us. He is my strength and life. He is the light that shines through me and he loves me no matter what kind of day I am having. I have been through some tough times but God has always seen me through and given me the strength to keep going and to be all that I am created to be.

Fun Fact #2
I was put on stage to sing at a very young age and won some talent shows, sang in church productions, home sing-a-longs, sang with a church dance band, for weddings, and at my dad’s funeral which was very difficult but I knew he would love that. However, even though I have sung on stage a lot in my past, I prefer to be out of the center of attention. You could call me the “singing nutritionist” ha ha!
I come from a very musical family. My father wrote and sang many songs on the stages of the maritime provinces. My mother is a yodeller and met my Dad in the music business in Halifax. They both are honored in the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nova Scotia. My sister, Maria also is a very good song writer and loves to sing and play her guitar. My uncle Ralph is a song writer, made a few albums and is very well known in the Maritimes. My nephew Rob has his own band called Ruckus.
Fun Fact #3
I homeschooled both of my boys through high school. One is going to public high school his last two years and the other suffers from autism and is finished his formal schooling. I was also on the homeschool leadership committee for the Christian Home Educator’s Network also known as CHEN.
Fun Fact #4
I went back to college at the age of 49 and graduated with a certification of merit in holistic nutrition at 51 years of age. I am a life-long learner.
Fun Fact #5
I grew up in the Maritimes but I lived in Texas for two years from the age of 19-21. I lived on a college campus in Big Sandy, Texas and graduated with an Associate of Science Degree.
